To support the development of the solar thermal power generation industry, and in response to the requirements of the relevant project developers and designers in China, the National Alliance for Solar Thermal Energy decides to host the training on the use of SAM (System Advisor Model) software in Beijing in March 14-17, 2017.
The main courses include: introduction and SAM overview, SAM’s PPA single owner financial model; demonstration of trough solar thermal power generation system (physical), linear Fresnel type and molten salt type power generation model, as well as the practical operation of solar thermal power generation systems in the three technical routes; seminar for learning outcomes and future work.
1. Training duration: March 14-17
2. Location: Institute of Electrical Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences (tentative)
3. Training content: use SAM to simulate the performance and economic efficiency of the solar thermal power generation system
4. Instructor: Paul Gilman, SAM Software User Support and Training Specialist designated by the U.S. National Renewable Energy Laboratory
5. Training form: explanation + practical operation + discussion. To save time, be sure to download and install the latest version of SAM software in advance. Website for download: https://sam.nrel.gov/download
6. Training targets: solar thermal power project managers and engineers, policy analysts, technology developers and researchers, etc.
