On March 1, 2025, China Solar Thermal Alliance (hereinafter referred to as the "CSTA") and Solar Thermal Power Committee of Chinese Renewable Energy Society organized a visit to BaoTi Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as " BaoTi ") by 25 representatives from member units of CSTA. The visit was warmly received by Wang Jian, Party Committee Secretary, Chairman, and General Manager of BaoTi, Vice Chief Engineer Ding Wuzhou, and General Manager of Equipment Manufacturing Company, Fang Zhongfu.
The delegation first visited the corporate exhibition hall and production workshops of BaoTi, gaining a detailed understanding of the company's development history, corporate culture, product categories, and application fields. As a leading enterprise in China's titanium industry, BaoTi has strong technical capabilities and rich product experience in fields such as aerospace, marine engineering, and chemical equipment. In recent years, BaoTi has actively expanded into the solar thermal field, developing high-performance titanium alloy materials suitable for solar thermal power generation, providing strong support for the development of the industry.
During the exchange and discussion session, Wang Jian, Party Committee Secretary, Chairman, and General Manager of BaoTi, warmly welcomed the delegation and introduced the company's research and development progress and future development plans in the solar thermal field. He stated that BaoTi is the largest and most complete titanium and titanium alloy R&D and manufacturing enterprise in China, with three major industrial sectors: titanium, equipment design and manufacturing, and new materials. The company controls two listed companies, BaoTi Shares (600456) and Baose Shares (300402), and has the world's largest titanium material output. Its overall strength ranks among the top three in the global titanium industry. The company has also won the "China Industry Grand Prize," the highest award in China's industrial field, and is the only one in the industry. Currently, the nickel-based GH3625 coil produced in large quantities by BaoTi has been applied in molten salt tower solar thermal power stations. BaoTi hopes to strengthen cooperation with member units of CSTA to jointly promote technological progress and industrial application of solar thermal materials.
Wang Zhifeng, a researcher at the Institute of Electrical Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chairman of CSTA, and Director of Solar Thermal Power Committee of Chinese Renewable Energy Society, said that BaoTi is a leading enterprise in the international titanium materials industry. In the solar thermal field, especially in the fourth-generation CSP, it has broad prospects for development and application. CSTA will actively build a platform to promote exchanges and cooperation between BaoTi and member units, and jointly promote the high-quality development of the global solar thermal industry.
Cheng Wei, the head of the Technology Department of BaoTi 's Nickel Materials Company, introduced the high-performance nickel-based N06625 strip in detail. Subsequently, the representatives engaged in an in-depth exchange and discussion on issues such as technological development trends, market demand, and common technologies. Zhao Xiaohui, Vice Chairman of the Alliance, presided over the meeting.
Wang Zhifeng proposed that CSTA has a mechanism for organizing R&D projects. In the future, CSTA will launch a series of joint industrial chain research projects to promote win-win cooperation among upstream and downstream enterprises in the solar thermal industry chain.
