A technical acceptance meeting, organized by the Hi-tech R&D Center of Ministry of Science and Technology, was held on January 6th in Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, regarding the 863 plan project in the field of advanced energy technology entitled “Research and Demonstration of 10-MW Tower Solar-Thermal Power Generation Technology Based on Small-Area Heliostat,” undertaken by Zhejiang SUPCON Solar Technology Co. Ltd, a council unit of the National Solar Thermal Energy Alliance.
During the acceptance meeting, the expert panel listened to the self-acceptance report from the responsible unit, consulted the on-site witness report and test report, and reviewed acceptance materials such as intellectual property rights, theses and software copyrights obtained by the project. After inquiries and full discussion, experts were convinced that the acceptance materials of the project were complete, and that the main research contents as defined in the task book were achieved, fulfilling evaluation indexes and meeting acceptance requirements. The panel highly evaluated achievements of the project and unanimously agreed that it passed the technical acceptance.
Achievements of this project have been successfully applied to SUPCON 10-MW tower molten-salt energy-storage solar-thermal power station in Delingha City, Qinghai Province. This power station achieved the grid-connected power generation on 26th August 2016, which made it the first large-scale energy-storage solar-thermal power station with grid-connected power generation in China and the third in the world, playing a good demonstration role in the wide promotion of China’s tower energy-storage solar-thermal power generation technology.
