On March 29, 2016, the kick-off meeting of the Alliance standard “Heat Transfer Fluid for Solar Thermal Power” was held in Beijing. Mr. Junsheng Zhu, leader of the Alliance’s standardization expert panel, and Mr. Liu Xiaobing, Secretary-General of the Alliance, addressed the meeting. Ms. Du Fengli, Deputy Secretary-General of the Alliance presided over the meeting. Twenty representatives from twelve units attended the meeting.
The Standard’s main drafting unit is Jiangsu Zhongneng Chemical Co., Ltd, one of the Alliance members. Other drafting units are Institute of Electrical Engineering of Chinese Academy of Sciences, CGN Solar Energy Development Co., Ltd and Shandong Tianyi Chemicals Co., Ltd. The cooperative units include Beijng TRX Solar Technology Co., Ltd, Suzhou Solutia Thermal Co., Ltd, Rayspower, China Huaneng Group Clean Energy Research Institute, Northwest Electric Power Design Institute of China Power Engineering Consulting Group, Shenzhen Enesoon Science & Technology Co., Ltd, Huadian New Energy Technology Development Company and Boyu Chengdu New Energy Co., Ltd, etc.
Heat transfer fluid is a general term for organic carriers used as heat transfer medium. This standard is applicable to heat transfer fluid for solar thermal power, which is composed of diphenyl, diphenyl oxide and other elements. Currently China has two standards in this field, i.e., Heat Transfer Fluids (GB23971—2009) and HTF-400(mixture of biphenyl and diphenyl oxide) (HG/T 2546-1993). However, the two standards cannot meet the high quality requirements for heat transfer fluid in solar thermal power industry. So formulation of related standards is urgent and necessary, which matters a lot to the healthy development of the industry.(Translated and edited by Cheng Wenyan)
