In the afternoon of January 15, 2016, the China National Solar Thermal Energy Alliance (referring to the Alliance) convened a meeting to discuss how to carry out the research on CSP’s Generic Technology in alliance’s mode. Over 20 delegates from National Semiconductor Lighting Project Research and Industry Development Alliance, Society of Automotive Engineering of China, Institute of Electrical Engineering of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Bai Ji Rui New energy Co., Ltd., Beijing Jingchengcailong Steel Structure Development Co., Ltd., Shanghai Electric, Royal Tech Solar, Yunnan Normal University, Jiangsu Sunhome New Energy Co., Ltd., Rayspower, Beijing University of Technology, Hubei Guizu Vacuum Science&Technology Co.,Ltd., Lanzhou Dacheng Technology Co., Ltd., Dalian SVTSUN Solar Energy Technology Co,. Ltd., Camda New Energy. Mr. Xiaobin Liu, general-secretary of the Alliance, hosted the meeting.
Mr. Liu pointed out that research on common technology is an urgent task for the alliance, we should figure out a suitable developing mode for the alliance’s members. During the meeting, Dr. Junsong Cao from Semiconductor Lighting Project Research and Industry Development Alliance, and Dr. Jie Yang from Automotive Engineering of China shared their experiences separately. After discussion, it’s agreed that the Alliance, as the service platform for the members should pay a key role in the CSP generic technologies R&D. The Alliance could collect generic technologies requests from its members, and find problems to be settled. With the help from the expert team formed and integration of the public technology service platform, the Alliance can finance the research of some key CSP generic technologies.
Generic technologies is a kind of technology that has been widely adopted in many fields and has impact on one or more industries, it will push the whole industry in the level, quality and efficiency of the technique and has huge economic and society benefits. Giving the condition that members are all in lack of sufficient money, it’s hard for a certain company to do the generic technologies research. The Alliance will function actively as a public platform, raise ideas extensively and construct a special common technology research center which will be used in developing key and basic common technology in competitive period of concentrating solar power industry. Based on the results of the generic technologies research, the companies is able to continue commercial research and development according to their own products in order to develop a competitive technique or product.
