To promote “Low-carbon Olympics” and boost the construction of a smart energy-friendly city, a Seminar on Heating Technologies for Buildings Utilizing Renewable Energies and the Implementation Strategies will be held from January 12th to 13th, 2016 at Chongli County of Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province. The Seminar is hosted by China National Solar Thermal Energy Alliance, Zhangjiakou Municipal People's Government, China Renewable Energy Society, China Solar Thermal Industry Federation, Society of Engineering Thermophysics, Kang-Ju Construction Parts Certification Center of Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, China Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance for Housing, and Renewable Energy Expert Panel of 863 Program (2011-2015) of Ministry of Science and Technology.
The topics of the Seminar include relevant national policies, status quo and trends of heating technologies for buildings utilizing renewable energies; systems of heating technologies for buildings utilizing renewable energies and their applications; heating network of multiple renewable energies; technologies and equipment for buildings utilizing solar energy; technologies and equipment for buildings utilizing biomass energy; operation modes and technologies of heating with wind power; technologies of air source heat pumps and ground source heat pumps. Related government leaders, energy policy experts, specialists from universities, researching institutes and industry will attend the meeting and give speeches.
In July 2015, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) issued the Development Plan for Zhangjiakou Renewable Energy Demonstration Zone according to the approval of the State Council. According to this Plan, Zhangjiakou Demonstration Zone will promote the commercialization of projects adopting heating technologies of solar energy, wind power, biomass energy and geothermal energy. This Plan also says that, by 2020, the total area of buildings utilizing renewable energies for heating in main urban areas of Zhangjiakou and its counties will exceed 16 million square meters and by 2030, over 90 million square meters. Utilizing renewable energies for heating in buildings is important for constructing a zero-carbon and smart energy-friendly city for 2022 Winter Olympic Games and is also the only solution to low-carbon heating in the north of China.
