Recently, the installation of 300,000 heliostats for PowerChina's 100MW molten salt tower concentrated solar power (CSP) plant with 900MW of photovoltaic capacity in Ruoqiang County has officially begun. The assembly of heliostats for the CSP plant is currently being accelerated.
Huang Dong, the person in charge of the Ruoqiang project department of PowerChina Ruida New Energy Co., Ltd., introduced that the project adopts tower concentrated solar power technology. The heliostat field covers an area of 650,000 square meters, with a total of 300,000 heliostats to be installed. The installation phase is now underway, and it is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
Bian Wenjie, deputy manager and safety director of the Ruoqiang CSP project department of SEPCOIII Electric Power Construction Co., Ltd. said, "The project uses small-mirror technology, which features high wind resistance, high tracking accuracy, and high optical efficiency. The support structure adopts a triangular low-support design, reducing steel usage and effectively saving construction costs."
