According to a report in the Gansu Daily on February 21, at the Three Gorges Hengji Nengmai Guazhou 700,000-kilowatt "Solar Thermal Energy Storage+" project site, the main transformer and transmission lines of the 100,000-kilowatt "Dual-Tower Single-Machine" solar thermal molten salt energy storage power station have been energized, and the commissioning is entering the final sprint stage, with an expected grid connection in the first half of this year.

China Three Gorges Renewable Energy (Group) Co.,Ltd. stated that the solar thermal project is steadily advancing various tasks, including warm-up, salt melting, commissioning, and heliostat installation.

Hengji Nengmai New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. introduced that the 100,000kW CSP station adopts the tower molten salt technology and uses a domestic pioneering dual-concentration heat collection system combined with a single heat storage and exchange system. The concentration heat collection system has selected 26,944 quadrilateral heliostats with an area of 29.7 square meters each, with a height of 2.5 meters for the heliostats. The total light collection area of the heliostat field is approximately 800,200 square meters. Both heat absorption towers have a central elevation of 190 meters, and the system is configured with a 6-hour molten salt heat storage.
