The Alliance Standard of "GH3625 Nickel-Based Alloy Welded Pipes Used in Nitrate Molten Salt Receivers of Solar Thermal Tower Power Plant" (Draft for Review) has been Approved

On December 10th, The China Solar Thermal Alliance (referred to as the CSTA) organized an expert review meeting for the alliance standard "Standard for GH3625 Nickel-Based Alloy Welded Pipes Used in Nitrate Molten Salt Receivers of Solar Thermal Tower Power Plant " (Draft for Review) in Beijing. Representatives from the alliance's standardization expert group, leading and participating units in the standard drafting, as well as some units that proposed revision opinions during the public opinion solicitation phase, attended the review meeting.

The standard was drafted under the leadership of Changzhou Sheneng Metal Products Co., Ltd. (referred to as Changzhou Sheneng), with the participation of Northwest Engineering Corporation Limited, Shouhang High-tech Energy Technology Co., Ltd., Dongfang Boiler CO., LTD., Bluestar (Beijing) Chemical Machinery Co., Ltd, Daye Special Steel Co., Ltd., Central South University, BAOTI Group Co.,Ltd., and Zhong Hang Shang Da Superalloys Co., Ltd., among others.

The review panel of experts included: Li Baoshan, Special Advisor to the China Renewable Energy Society and Director of the National Solar Energy Standardization Technical Committee (Group Leader), Wang Zhifeng, Researcher at the Institute of Electrical Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Bai Fengwu, Researcher at the Institute of Electrical Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Dai Yanjun, Professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Hou Hongjuan, Professor at North China Electric Power University, Liu Meng, Researcher at the China National Institute of Standardization and Secretary General of the National Solar Energy Standardization Technical Committee,Li Xuguang, Executive Dean of TUS-CLEAN Energy, Du Fengli, Director of the ZhongGuanCun XinYuan Solar Thermal Technology Service Center (the order is not significant), as well as Liu Huiqun, Professor at Central South University, and Zang Chuncheng, Associate Researcher at the Institute of Electrical Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Gao Liming from Changzhou Sheneng represented the drafting team and reported on the background of the standard, research work, experimental verification, drafting process, main content, and the summary of the handling of opinions solicited. He stated that the drafting units conducted extensive research on domestic and foreign standards and engineering experience, and revised the standard text through several discussions to ensure the advancement and applicability of the standard.

After listening to the drafting team's report on the standard work, the expert review group conducted a serious, detailed, and responsible review of the standard chapter by chapter, section by section, and article by article, and proposed amendments. The expert group believed that the standard review materials provided by the drafting team were complete and met the requirements for standard review; the technical content of the standard was scientifically sound, operable, coordinated with the existing relevant standards, and the formulation of the standard met the national standard formulation requirements. The formulation of this standard will guide and promote the domestic application of nickel-based alloy pipes for solar thermal tower power plant. The expert group unanimously agreed to pass the review of the standard and suggested that the draft be revised according to expert opinions as soon as possible to form a report for approval, and then submitted according to the procedures.

Dr. Wang Zhifeng, Chairman of the CSTA emphasized the following points in his summary:

The alliance standard has three characteristics: fast, small, and accurate. "Fast" means that the alliance standard has a simple review process and rapid approval, which is very important for a rapidly developing industry; "small" emphasizes that the scope of the standard does not have to be large, targeting a product, a process, or a condition is fine, and it does not have to be as broad as the national standard. "Accurate" means precision, accurate terminology, accurate data, and accurate methods.

The alliance focuses on CSP industry, and therefore, compared to public standard research and management institutions, it has good and professional contacts with foreign industries and international organizations. If necessary, the standard drafting host unit can request the alliance to contact domestic and foreign research institutions, universities, and enterprises to participate in the alliance standard, promoting the alliance standard to have an international level.

The China Solar Thermal Alliance organizes and publishes alliance standards without charging any fees.
