From June 1st to June 30th, 2022, the power generated by Shouhang Hi-Tech Dunhuang 100MW solar tower plant exceeded 33790MWh, a year-on-year increase of 91.2%. The plant achieved 262 hours of continuous operation for a single time. During the month, the average daily power generation on sunny days exceeded 1850MWh.
Mr. Wenbo Huang, president of Shouhang Hi-Tech and executive vice chairman of China Solar Thermal Alliance said: as the first demonstration in China, the operation performance of Shouhang Dunhuang 100MW solar tower plant is continuously improved. The experiences and lessons learned from this first plant will lay a solid foundation for the next CSP projects. The solar tower CSP technology is getting mature in China. CSP will play a positive demonstration and leading role in the field of new energy, and help the realization of the national "carbon neutrality" goal.
Shouhang Dunhuang 100MW solar tower plant is located in solar Park of dunhuang City, Gansu Province. It is one of the first batch of national CSP demonstration projects and was connected to the grid on December 28, 2018. As China's first 100MW solar tower plant, it covers an area of 7.8 square kilometers and has 11-hour molten salt heat storage system, installed more than 12,000 heliostats with a total aperture area of 1.4 million square meters, and the solar tower height is 260m. The annual CO₂ reduction is equivalent to the environmental benefit of 6.67million square meters of forest.
