2018 will be an extraordinary year in the history of solar thermal power generation in China. In May, China National Energy Administration issued a notice on “Promoting the Construction of Solar Thermal Power Demonstration Projects”, required that we should unify our thinking and pay great importance to the construction of demonstration projects. The notice stated that we should work together to build a project promotion mechanism; strengthen collaboration and multi-party linkage to form a joint effort. On the evening of June 30, CGN New Energy Delingha 50MW parabolic trough CSP demonstration project was successfully connected to the grid for the first trial. The first batch of solar thermal power generation demonstration projects is the pioneer in the CSP development in China. China National Solar Thermal Energy Alliance hereby sorts out the latest progress of some demonstration projects according to the public news for reference.
1. 50MW parabolic trough project of CGN Delingha
At the night of June 30, the plant was successfully connected to the grid for the first time.
2. 50MW solar tower project of Qinghai Supcon Delingha
On June 29, the steam drum of the storage, reheater and superheater were successfully placed, the civil construction stage finished and began the equipment installation stage. More than 21,000 heliostat column casted and more than 12,000 heliostats have been installed. The main structural work of the steam generation chain has been completed 95%. The solar tower has been topped and the steel structure on the tower top is being constructed, and the construction of the molten salt tank body has been completed.
The project is scheduled to be completed and put into operation by December 31, 2018.
3. 100MW solar tower project of Shouhang IHW Resources Saving
The heliostat column has been installed more than 60%, and the heliostat installation exceeds 35%; the steel structure on the top of the solar tower is constructing; the storage tank wall is under welding; the generator is under commissioned and the steam turbine cylinder has been placed.
The project is scheduled to be completed and put into operation by December 31, 2018.
4. 50MW molten salt Fresenel project of Lanzhou Dacheng Dunhuang
On June 22, the project financing cooperation and EPC contract signing ceremony was held in Beijing. The project financing party is Power China Leasing Co., Ltd., and the EPC party is Zhongnan Engineering Corporation Limited of Power China
On June 29, the construction start-up ceremony was held.
The project is planned to be connected to the grid by June 30, 2019.
5. 50MW silicon oil parabolic trough project of Royal Tech Yumen
On June 15, the owner signed the EPC contracting agreement with Beijing Shouhang IHW Resources Saving Technology Co., Ltd
On June 19, a groundbreaking ceremony was held.
The supply contract for the main equipments (steam turbine, generator) has been signed, and part of the silicone oil has arrived at the project site.
The project is scheduled to be completed and put into operation by the end of December 2019.
6. 50MW beam-down solar tower project of Yunmen Xinneng Solar
The solar island installation of the 1# module is basically completed, and the commissioning work of it is in preparation; the civil works of the 2#, 3#, 4#, and 5# modules have already been installed, and the assembly of the secondary tower steel structure has begun; the civil construction of the module 6#~10# is in progress.
The project strives to put into operation by the end of 2018.
7. 50MW solar tower project of Northwest Engineering of Power China
Most of the bidding work has been completed, and the relevant winner bidder has been confirmed; on June 28, the first set of heliostat went offline and completed the installation; the solar tower foundation is out of the ground.
The project strives to connect to the grid before June 30, 2019 and the put into operation before December 30, 2019.
8. 50MW solar tower project of Northwest Electric Power Design Institute of China Power Engineering Consulting Group
The steam generation system building, solar tower, chemical water, air cooling and power transformation sections have started. The solar tower height is more than 40 meters; the equipment bidding has been basically completed, and the main equipments such as generator, steam turbine and solar field have entered the supply stage.
The project is scheduled to be put into operation by June 30, 2019.
9. 50MW parabolic trough project of Shenzhen Gold Vanadium Energy Akeshai
More than 2000 sets of support towers and more than 100 drive towers have been installed; the concentrators will be installed soon; the towers of the power transmission have completed 190 bases. The natural gas pipeline is 23 kilometers long and has completed 21 kilometers. .
The project strives to achieve grid-connection by the end of 2018, ensuring that the whole project will be completed and connected to the grid before June 30, 2019.
10. 50MW parabolic trough project of Rayspower Energy Yumen
On April 28, the construction start-up ceremony was held in Yumen.
It is planned to be connected to the grid by June 30, 2019.
