Synhelion has joined the WEF’s Global Innovators Community. The Global Innovators Community is an invitation-only group of the world’s most promising start-ups and scale-ups that are at the forefront of ethical technological and business model innovation.
Synhelion will actively contribute toward the Airports of Tomorrow (AoT) initiative. As part of the WEF’s Center for Nature and Climate, AoT seeks to address the energy, infrastructure, and financing needs of the aviation industry’s transition to net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. AoT investigates how sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) producers can be supported to serve the rising demand of SAF and brings them together with the right partners. The overall goal of the initiative is to make sure that SAF will be available on the market in time to meet emission reduction targets.
As part of the WEF’s innovator community Synhelion will now contribute to the roundtables and meetings held within the AoT initiative. During the roundtables, current issues are discussed and partners to address the pressing challenges can be found. Based on the results of these, WEF will publish short case studies on policy implementation that address topics like the ideal countries and regions to produce SAF and what that means for regulation and incentive creation.
“The World Economic Forum is happy to have Synhelion join our Global Innovators community,” says Verena Kuhn, Head of the Global Innovators Community, World Economic Forum. “Including new, innovative voices is essential in the work we do at the Forum, and we look forward what Synhelion’s expertise in SAF will add to our Airports of Tomorrow initiative and wider dialogues on achieving net zero.”
The excellent WEF network will enable Synhelion to meet and exchange with relevant stakeholders along the SAF value chain and discuss how to approach challenges and manage market ramp-up.
