“Test method for heat loss coefficient of parabolic trough solar receiver tube” published

On June 23,2016, China National Solar Thermal Energy Alliance published a new Alliance’s standard named "Test Method for Heat Loss Coefficient of Parabolic Trough Solar Receiver Tube”, which will come into effect from July 23, 2016. 

The proposal of "Test Method for Heat Loss Coefficient of Parabolic Trough Solar Receiver Tube” was put forward by Institute of Electrical Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and approved by the board of directors of the China National Solar Thermal Energy Alliance in December 2015. This standard specifies how to test the steady-state heat loss coefficient of parabolic trough solar receivers and its statistics processing. The method is applicable to parabolic trough solar receivers for concentrating solar power, and other glass-metal inner tube structure solar receivers can refer to this method.

The standards play an irreplaceable role in the process of national economic development, and the Alliance has always been attaching great importance to the preparation work of standards. So far, China National Solar Thermal Energy Alliance has published 11 standards, including "Test methods for quality of heliostat”, “Dynamic test method for the thermal performance of parabolic trough solar collectors”, ”Reflectance test method of glass mirror for concentrated solar power”, etc. These standards have played a guidance role for the industry.
