2015 standardization working meeting of National Solar Thermal Energy Alliance was held in Beijing on September 18. The purpose of the meeting is to accelerate the Alliance’s standardization process and to ensure the healthy and orderly development of solar thermal industry of China.
At the meeting, the standardization expert panel of the Alliance discussed and analyzed those standards that should be prepared for solar thermal electric (STE) plants, the management approach of the standardization work and the implementation roadmap. It is agreed that the standards would define terminology, design and installation requirements, performance measurement techniques and test methods, safety requirements for each of the current different types of systems in the STE field, namely parabolic trough, solar tower, Linear Fresnel, Dish and thermal storage. The framework and the preparation sequence of the Alliance’s standards of STE and solar low/medium temperature application will be determined.
Until now, the Alliance has published 6 standards, including “Test methods for heliostats’ quality”, “Test methods for the performance of medium-temperature non-tracking solar collectors”, “Test methods for heliostats’ tracking accuracy”, “Measurement methods for the surface shape of the solar concentrator”, “Method for testing and product quality evaluation of solar air conditioner” and “Terminology for medium temperature solar thermal utilization”.
