The First China Solar Thermal Electricity Conference held in Dunhuang

The First China Solar Thermal Electricity Conference opened successfully in Dunhuang city, Gansu province, China on August 19, 2015. The conference is directed by New Energy & Renewable Energy Department of National Energy Administration, organized by National Solar Thermal Energy Alliance, Chinese Renewable Energy Society, Chinese Society of Engineering Thermophysics and Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering.

Those addressed on the opening ceremony include: Mr. Zheng Fangneng, director of Energy and Transportation Division of High and New Technology Development and Industrialization Department, MOST; Mr.Zhan Shunzhou, Municipal Standing Committee member of Jiuquan city and Party Secretary of Dunhuang city; Mr. Shi Dinghuan, counselor of the State Department and president of Chinese Renewable Energy Society; Mr. Xu Jianzhong, adademician of Chinese Academy of Sciences and honorary Chair of Chinese Society of Engineering Thermophysics; Mr. Huang Wenjia, Chairman of Beijing Shouhang Resources Saving Co., Ltd. More than 300 researchers, scholars, governmental officials and investors from both at home and abroad attend the conference.

The conference will last three days, from Aug.19th to Aug.21st. The conference focuses on the technological exchange of solar thermal electricity, with the topics covering from solar collectors, heat transfer and thermal storage, system design to reliability and service life prediction of components and systems, solar thermal water desalination and solar resource assessment.
