On October 29, NWEPDI signed a technical service contract with Shanghai Electric Group Co., Ltd. for Dubai DEWA 700 MW Solar Thermal Project. Mr. Liu Zhuang, Deputy General Manager as well as party committee member of NWEPDI, and Mr.Liu Minghua, Executive Deputy General Manager of Shanghai Electric Power Station Engineering Company attended the signing ceremony.
The Dubai DEWA 700 MW Solar Thermal Project is currently the world's largest and most technologically advanced solar thermal power station. The project is located in Maktoum Solar Park in Dubai. It consists of one 100 MW molten salt tower type thermal power station and three 200 MW trough solar thermal power stations. The molten salt storage time is up to 15 hours and the collecting tower is 260 meters high. The project owner and power purchaser both are DEWA, the project developer is ACWA Power, and Shanghai Electric Group acts as the EPC contractor. Besides, NWEPDI will provide technical consulting service of the tower type thermal power station for Shanghai Electric Group.
The signing of this contract marks that after the Noor Phase III solar thermal project in Morocco, NWEPDI once again participated in a world-renowned solar thermal project. And it laid a good foundation for NWEPDI's development in solar thermal business as well as international high-end consulting business.
