ISES Solar World Congress 2015 opened in Daegu,Korea on October 9th, 2015. The congress was hosted by International Solar Energy Society and organized by Korea Solar Energy Society.
David Renné, chairman of International Solar Energy Society, and Kwang Hwan Choi, chairman of Korea Solar Energy Society, co-chaired the congress. About 300 experts in solar power field from all around the world attended the congress. Achim Stener, executive director of United Nations Environment Programme, sent a video clip to express his congratulations.
The congress topics mainly include: solar building and architecture; energy resources assessment and meteorology; renewable electricity technologies: photovoltaic, CSP, biomass, geothermal, wind, hydro, ocean and others; solar heating and cooling; solar energy and society; energy storage; renewable energy grid integration and distribution; off-grid and rural energy access; clean transportation technologies and strategies.
The congress lasted for five days. Representatives from Shanghai Jiaotong University, University of Science and Technology of China, Institute of Electrical Engineering, Beijing Institute of Technology, Hunan University, Nanjing Normal University and City University of Hong Kong attended the congress.（translated and edited by Zhaorui Yang）
