The First CPC Medium Temperature Solar Industrial Thermodynamic System Put into Application

Linuo Paradigma solar boiler project, which is the first CPC medium temperature solar industrial thermodynamic system, started in Linuo High-tech Campus on May 10th, 2011. This is a milestone in China’s solar thermal application transmission from civil application to industrial high & medium temperature application, symbolizing our enhancement from solar hot water to solar thermal application. And this project made Shandong Province a pioneer in solar photo-thermal application. At the press conference of putting thermodynamic system into application, the “Industrial Green Power Plan” was started up, and Vice Provincial Governor of Shandong, Wang Junpin, who is also the member of CPC Shandong Province Standing Committee, co-launched this plan with Junfeng Li, Deputy Director of Energy Research Institute of National Development & Reform Committee. President of Linuo Group who delivered a speech at the conference, and Vice President Wenming, She gave conference participants a detailed introduction of this plan.

      At present, all civil applications of solar hot water are mostly under 90 because of no enough technological support. Therefore, these hot water applications are not available to put into industrial field, such as papermaking, food, tobacco, wood, chemical, pharmaceutical, textile, plastics, etc. However, these industries are all big energy and heat consumers in China, and they mostly demand the water temperature ranging from 80 to 250 . To make this enhancement, we need some essential improvement in core facilities, which Linuo Paradigma is doing now: solar boiler project is to realize the integration between CPC medium temperature collectors and boiler system. The detailed working principle is using CPC medium temperature collectors and reflectors to collect more solar energy to heat normal temperature water (15) to medium temperature water (95), which will be pumped into boilers to heat to steam (150). This operation breaks the shackles of medium & high temperature hot water application. Linuo Paradigma’s solar boiler system has a light collecting area of 5,200 square meters, which can save 1,156 tons of coal and reduce 3,000 tons of CO2 emission. The working life of this system is 10-15 years, and users can recover their cost in 4 years, which is also a vivid reflection of low-carbon & environmental-friendly thoughts.

      This technique holds seven patents, which is put forward in this special background-nuclear energy development is widely doubted; international oil price is getting higher and higher; domestic coal consumption is in tense situation. This innovative technology also highly fits into the national “Industrial Structure Adjustment Instruction Catalogue”, which was modified just now and considered as the new direction of China’s industrial adjustment. In detail, there are two points: “to develop high-efficiency solar water heaters & hot water projects”, “to strengthen solar medium & high temperature application technology development as well as facilities manufacture”. This fitness was highly remarked by related experts in solar industries.   

This starting ceremony was held by Shandong Province Energy-saving Office, Shandong Solar Industry Association, and chaired by the director of Shandong Province Energy-saving Office, Zheng Xiaoguang. The VIP participants were Li Shiying , Vice Director of Shandong Government General Office, Zhang Zongxiang, Deputy Mayor of Jinan City, Ma Chongfang , Dean of Environment & Energy Engineer School of Beijing Industry University, professorYin Zhiqiang , from Tsinghua University; professor Wang Ruzhu of Shanghai Jiaotong University; Jia Tieying, General Secretary of National Solar Energy Standardization Technology Committee; Luo Zhentao, China Solar Thermal Application Committee member; Dean of Shandong Product Quality Inspection Research Institute; and many other experts of related field, such as Zheng Ruicheng, Shao Jixin, Wang Zhifeng, He Tao, Li Yuwu, Dai Ynajun, Li Xing, Gao Feng, Xue Yibing, Zhang Muzi, Wan Fuchu, Lu Zisheng, Han Yumin, etc. Many newspapers, TV, and other media also attended the starting ceremony.
