The Secretariat is a standing executing agency of the Alliance, and is directly led by the chairman. It is responsible for the daily affairs of the Alliance and project coordination and management. It is made up of one secretary-general who heads the whole organization and is appointed by the chairman, and one vice secretary-general who is nominated and appointed by the secretary-general after being approved by the chairman. The other staff are hired by the secretary-general according to the work requirements.
