Nano Coating Technology and Full-Scenario Solutions Provider — HONGHUI NEW MATERIALS Joins the CSTA

China's new energy industry is advancing steadily, with increasingly clear convergence between photovoltaic (PV) and solar thermal technologies. Collaborative innovation across the industrial chain, together with continuous technological iteration, is becoming the key driving force for cost reduction, efficiency improvement, and the achievement of the nation's "dual carbon" goals. Recently, HONGHUI NEW MATERIALS (Hangzhou Honghui New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., hereinafter referred to as "HONGHUI NEW MATERIALS") officially joined the China Solar Thermal Alliance (hereinafter referred to as the "CSTA"). With its independently developed nano coating technology, the company is now integrated into the national-level industrial collaboration system, leveraging new materials innovation to support the high-quality development of the solar energy industry chain.

Outdoor dust accumulation, wind and sand erosion, transmittance degradation, and equipment aging have long plagued the stable operation of solar power plants. Power generation losses vary significantly across different regions: losses in Northwest China's desert ("Sand-Go-Desert") areas range from 15% to 40%, while losses in most urban areas of China range from approximately 5% to 25%. As a technology-driven enterprise deeply rooted in photovoltaic protective new materials, HONGHUI NEW MATERIALS addresses these real-world industry pain points. The company aims to leverage the CSTA platform to deepen technical exchanges and conduct joint research, extending its mature coating technology into the solar thermal field, and working hand in hand with industry partners to overcome industrial development challenges.

Since its establishment, HONGHUI NEW MATERIALS has focused on the R&D and industrial application of photovoltaic nano coatings, adhering to independent innovation and forging a development path of proprietary technology, domestic substitution, and scenario adaptation. The company has assembled a professional R&D team targeting the shortcomings of traditional coatings — short service life, weak wear resistance, insufficient anti-reflection performance, and high construction costs. Through repeated optimization of formulations and processes, the team successfully developed an inorganic nano coating system, overcoming multiple industry technical bottlenecks. Relying on a unique microstructure design, the products combine strong weather resistance, high anti-reflection, super-hydrophilicity, and anti-static properties, with core performance indicators ranking among the industry's best.

In terms of core performance, HONGHUI's nano coatings demonstrate outstanding advantages. The product withstands up to 25,000 wear tests (dust-free cloth, 1kg load), far exceeding the industry's thousand-cycle wear level, enabling long-term resistance to repeated wind and sand erosion. The coating's transmittance gain reaches up to 2.55%, and after ten thousand wear tests, the gain value decays only minimally, with transmittance performance remaining stable. Leveraging long-lasting anti-static and super-hydrophilic properties, the coating enables self-cleaning through rain and condensation, effectively reducing the adhesion of dust, bird droppings, and oil stains, and significantly lowering the frequency of daily cleaning and operation & maintenance costs for power plants. Meanwhile, the product withstands temperatures up to 750°C, with an actual outdoor service life exceeding five years — far superior to comparable products on the market — and can adapt to various complex working conditions such as Northwest deserts, coastal tidal flats, and industrial and mining areas.

Targeting different application scenarios in China, HONGHUI NEW MATERIALS has built a series of customized product matrices, forming a complete photovoltaic coating solution. For desert ("Sand-Go-Desert") regions, it offers special coatings for sand and dust prevention and anti-adhesion; for fishery-solar complementary power stations, it has developed dedicated products that decompose organic dirt; for chemical and metallurgical plant environments, it has developed acid- and alkali-resistant, anti-corrosion coatings; for aging power stations, it has developed a refurbishment coating that restores the luster of old panels and endows them with new functions; and its roll-coating products for photovoltaic glass manufacturers can also replace traditional imported anti-reflection films. The full-category layout achieves complete coverage of scenarios including centralized power stations, distributed photovoltaics, and refurbishment of aging modules.

In the application phase, the company has simultaneously advanced process and equipment upgrades, independently developing integrated cleaning-and-coating equipment that revolutionizes traditional operation modes. Previously, a manual team of four could cover only 800 square meters per day; equipped with intelligent equipment, the same workforce can now cover up to 8,000 square meters per day — a tenfold improvement in operational efficiency. Coupled with full domestication of materials, the comprehensive usage cost has decreased significantly, offering both practicality and economy.

Technical strength must ultimately be tested in practice. At present, HONGHUI's nano coatings have been applied in photovoltaic projects across multiple regions of China, with remarkable measured results. After a centralized photovoltaic power plant in a wind-and-sand area of Northwest China adopted the product, power generation increased by 5.51% over seven months; an industrial and mining distributed photovoltaic plant affected by oil pollution and dust saw an 11.1% increase in power generation; and a plant suffering from multiple pollutants including wind, sand, and coal tar achieved a 6.68% generation gain. Stable generation gains and reliable protective effects have earned broad recognition from the market and customers.

The CSTA is an important industry platform in China's CSP field, consistently committed to technical research, standards development, and industry-academia-research collaboration. It serves as a vital vehicle for uniting industry forces and promoting the independent and high-end development of the industry. Joining the Solar Thermal Alliance marks an important step in HONGHUI NEW MATERIALS' development. From this new starting point, the company will leverage the CSTA's industry-academia-research resources to continuously iterate its next-generation coating technology, focus on developing temperature-reducing nano new materials, overcome the problem of power output degradation of power generation equipment under high-temperature conditions, and further expand the boundaries of technology application.
