Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Praises! Jixi 100MW CSP Project EPC Contracted by Zhongnan Engineering Corporation Limited

Recently, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning posted "Perseid Meteor Shower and Jixi CSP Project" on her personal overseas social media account. Tens of thousands of heliostats reflecting the meteor shower were reposted by Mao Ning as a "Feast of Stars," creating a public communication effect of "cosmic-level romance + mega project." The filming location of this viral "Feast of Stars" is precisely the "Jixi Base Lugu UHVDC 1.4 Million kW Export Project — Unit 2 100MW CSP Project" (abbreviated as Jixi Solar Thermal Power Plant), China's northernmost tower molten salt solar thermal power station, EPC contracted by Zhongnan Engineering Corporation Limited, a vice chairman unit of the China Solar Thermal Alliance.

Every August, the Perseid meteor shower visits the night sky of the Northern Hemisphere as scheduled. The Jixi Solar Thermal Power Plant, located in the wilderness of Jilin at 45.36 degrees north latitude, has become the perfect "frame" for this celestial feast, thanks to its open and unobstructed geographical environment and its contiguous, neatly arranged high-precision heliostat field.

As one of the first national demonstration projects for integrated wind-solar-thermal-storage development in desert, Gobi, and wasteland regions, and China's northernmost tower molten salt solar thermal power station, the Jixi CSP Project faces inherently challenging construction conditions. The combination of long and bitterly cold winters, extreme low temperatures, perennial Force 9 gales, and deep frozen soil has overturned conventional solar thermal construction standards, presenting world-class construction challenges throughout the entire process—from civil construction and equipment installation to molten salt system operation and maintenance.
