On May 13, the China Solar Thermal Alliance (hereinafter referred to as "CSTA") and the Solar Thermal Power Committee of Chinese Renewable Energy Society
jointly organized a visit to Hangzhou Huayuan Runpaq Energy Equipment Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Huayuan Runpaq"), and concurrently held a symposium on "Solar Thermal + Molten Salt Storage and Clean Energy Heating." Representatives from equipment supply, engineering design, and technology research and development in the CSP field engaged in in-depth discussions on hot topics such as integrated solar thermal development, electric heating equipment upgrades, large-scale molten salt storage, and zero-carbon heating for industrial parks and industries. They clarified the development directions of technological synergy, scenario expansion, cost optimization, and standard improvement, injecting new momentum into the deep integration of the solar thermal, storage, and heating industries.
Representatives first visited Huayuan Runpaq's exhibition hall to gain a comprehensive understanding of the company's development history and core strengths. Huayuan Runpaq was formerly the 9084th Factory of the General Logistics Department of the People's Liberation Army and is now a mixed-ownership enterprise controlled by China Energy Construction Group. It holds Class A boiler and pressure vessel design and manufacturing qualifications, has established a provincial-level enterprise research institute, joint laboratories with Zhejiang University and other universities, and a pilot platform registered with the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission. The company has long been deeply engaged in the fields of electric heating and thermal storage, with technologies such as electrode boilers, molten salt electric heating, and high-pressure water thermal storage at the leading domestic level. Its products are widely used in solar thermal, thermal power, industrial, and heating applications, making it a core supplier in the fields of solar thermal supporting electric heating and clean energy heating.

The symposium was chaired and addressed by Professor Liu Luping, a senior engineer and Vice Chairman of the CSTA. He pointed out that the integrated model of solar thermal + storage + heating is accelerating, with continuous growth in market demand for core equipment such as electric heating and molten salt storage, and ever-expanding application scenarios. The industry has entered a critical stage of technological breakthrough and market volume growth. The CSTA will continue to build industry-university-research-application docking platforms, promote member units to share technological achievements, jointly solve engineering challenges, and build standard systems together, thereby facilitating the collaborative and high-quality development of the solar thermal, storage, and heating industries.

Sun Tianjin, Deputy General Manager of Huayuan Runpaq, expressed gratitude to the CSTA for building the industry chain docking platform, and delivered a keynote report titled "Key Technologies and Applications of Long-Duration Thermal Storage Based on Multi-Energy Complementation of Green Power, Biomass, and Waste Heat." As a national-level specialized and innovative "Little Giant" key enterprise and a clean energy heating and storage solution provider under China Energy Construction Group, Huayuan Runpaq focused on introducing core technologies and engineering practices in fields such as ultra-high-power electrode boilers, molten salt electric heating, large-scale thermal storage, and biomass gasification coupling.

Relying on its self-developed ultra-high-power electrode heating technology, the company has achieved breakthroughs in dual technical routes for water medium and molten salt medium. Its products are widely used in scenarios such as solar thermal power station supporting, thermal power flexibility peak shaving, industrial steam supply, and zero-carbon park heating. Among them, the ultra-high-power electrode molten salt heater has undergone approximately one year of stable operation in solar thermal power station projects in Turpan, Xinjiang, and Tanghai, Tangshan, with its technological maturity and economic viability fully validated by the market. Sun Tianjin stated that the implementation and application of core technologies such as molten salt electric heating cannot be separated from the company's profound technical accumulation and strict quality control system. At the same time, technology upgrade and iteration also require collaborative efforts across the entire industry chain. Huayuan Runpaq warmly welcomes enterprises in the solar thermal, molten salt, and other industry chains to join the China Energy Engineering Huayuan Runpaq supply chain for in-depth cooperation.
Representatives from participating units engaged in exchanges on topics such as steam spherical tank thermal storage, molten salt electrode heating technology, and the innovative "Investment + Operation + Steam Sales" model. All parties reached a consensus that the current solar thermal industry is in a golden period of large-scale development opportunities. With policy and financial support, the industry chain needs to work collaboratively to achieve cost reduction and efficiency improvement through independent innovation, domestic substitution, and large-scale application. They will deepen cooperation in fields such as molten salt systems, thermal storage equipment, energy saving and carbon reduction, and intelligent operation and maintenance, jointly promoting the high-quality development of the industry.
