Zhongguang New Energy Investment & Construction! Qinghai SUPCON Delingha 350MW CSP Demonstration (Pilot) Project Fully Resumes Construction and Production

On March 18, 2026, the SUPCON Solar Power (Qinghai) Co., Ltd. Delingha 350MW Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) Demonstration (Pilot) Project, located within the photovoltaic (thermal) industrial park in Delingha City, Qinghai Province, officially resumed construction and production. At the construction site, workers are systematically carrying out various construction tasks. The completion of foundation excavation for the solar receiver tower marks that this demonstration (pilot) project in Qinghai Province has officially pressed the "acceleration button" in 2026.

It is reported that with the full resumption of work, the project will immediately enter the peak period for the main structure of the solar receiver tower, the main plant building roof, molten salt storage tanks, and heliostat field column installation. The project team will seize the golden construction period of spring, organize construction scientifically, and fully advance the project progress. This will ensure that all annual milestone nodes are achieved on schedule, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent overall commissioning and grid connection of the project.

As one of the first batch of CSP demonstration projects designated by the Qinghai Provincial Energy Bureau, the SUPCON Delingha 350MW CSP project is invested and constructed by Zhejiang Zhongguang New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., a council member unit of the CSTA. With a total investment of approximately 5.567 billion yuan, the project adopts core technologies including a low-position tank thermal storage system design and new-generation intelligent high-precision 37-square-meter heliostats. Equipped with a 14-hour energy storage system, the project is expected to generate 985 million kWh of electricity annually, sufficient to meet the annual electricity needs of 500,000 households, save approximately 295,000 tons of standard coal per year, and correspondingly reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 870,000 tons. Upon completion, the project will significantly enhance clean energy consumption levels and clean energy utilization efficiency, providing a demonstration for the development of the domestic clean energy industry.

The project's feasibility study report passed review on March 21, 2025; construction officially commenced on December 28 of the same year. Its successful operation will have far-reaching significance for optimizing the regional energy structure, enhancing grid peak-shaving capabilities, and supporting Qinghai Province in building a national clean energy industry highland.

Qinghai Province has clearly established that projects included in the demonstration plan from 2024 to 2028 will implement a grid-connected electricity price of 0.55 yuan/kWh and will not participate in market-based trading, providing the project with stable revenue expectations. This project is a landmark engineering project for the large-scale development of the CSP industry in Qinghai Province, playing an important demonstration role in promoting clean energy transformation and achieving "dual carbon" goals.
