CSTA Organizes Over 20 Industry Representatives to Visit Shanghai Boiler Works

On September 15, under the organization of the CSTA and the Solar Thermal Power Committee of Chinese Renewable Energy Society, more than 20 representatives from member units—including AoZhan Industral CO.,LTD, SYP, Gansu Kaisheng Damin Photoenergy Technology co., Ltd, Hangzhou Huayuan Runpag Energy Equipment Co., Ltd., Jindong Heat Medium, SunSum Technology Co., Ltd., Henan Ancai ST-TECH CO., LTD,Hubei Yuntu Molten Salt Technology Co., Ltd., Inner Mongolia Baichuan Solar Technology Co., Ltd., Shandong Zhaowei Iron Tower Co., Ltd., Shanxi Wojin New Materials Co., Ltd., Shanghai Yahe Valve Completion Co., Ltd., POWERCHINA JIANGXIELECTRICPOWER CONSTRUCTION CO., LTD, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics Chinese Academy of Sciences—visited Shanghai Boiler Works Co., Ltd. for an exchange and learning session.

Shanghai Boiler Works has long been dedicated to three major business sectors: high-efficiency clean energy, industrial equipment, and new energy. It provides world-leading integrated energy solutions to global clients and has achieved numerous domestic and international firsts. With over 70 years of deep cultivation and development, the company has become one of the world’s largest equipment manufacturing and engineering service enterprises.

Renowned for its high-quality products and efficient services, Shanghai Boiler Works offers a wide range of products including power station boilers, industrial boilers, power plant equipment packages, chemical engineering solutions, high-end equipment, hydrogen production systems, carbon capture and utilization (CCUS), solar thermal applications, thermal storage, compressed air energy storage, liquefied air energy storage, high-temperature heat pumps, and waste heat utilization devices. It also provides full-process consulting and technical solutions, complemented by diversified smart products and services to fully meet customers’ personalized needs throughout the entire lifecycle.

Against the backdrop of China’s “dual carbon” goals and the transformation of the energy structure, Shanghai Boiler Works—leveraging the industrial cluster advantages of the Shanghai Electric Group—has built a collaborative technology matrix covering “solar thermal–energy storage–hydrogen energy–carbon management,” becoming a system-level solution provider driving the green transformation of energy.

To date, Shanghai Boiler Works has achieved significant performance in solar thermal power generation, molten salt energy storage, and compressed air energy storage. Notable projects in the solar thermal field include the design and supply of the 100MW Dubai tower CSP system and steam generators. In molten salt thermal storage, it provided the complete design and supply of the molten salt steam heat exchange system for the Ningxia Electric Yuanyang Lake thermal power plant’s molten salt thermal storage coupling project. In compressed air energy storage, it supplied the complete set of hot and cold molten salt storage tanks for the Jiangsu Guoxin Suyan compressed air energy storage project.

During the discussion session, representatives engaged in lively exchanges on topics such as the solar thermal industry, project construction, and enterprise product innovation.

The delegation also visited the Shanghai Boiler Works Development Exhibition Hall, the Hydrogen Energy R&D Center, and the Solar-Storage R&D Center, and observed the wireless-controlled heliostats used in the Dubai tower CSP project. Through physical models, graphic panels, and multimedia presentations, the representatives gained a comprehensive understanding of the company’s glorious development history, profound corporate culture, and its full spectrum of product lines and global project layout in both traditional strengths—such as ultra-supercritical boilers, nuclear power equipment, and waste heat boilers—and emerging new energy fields like solar thermal power generation, molten salt thermal storage, compressed air energy storage, and electrolytic hydrogen production.
