On 25 July, the CSTA led an industry delegation—headed by Dr. Zhao Xiaohui, standing vice-chairman of the CSTA and deputy chief engineer & general manager of the Science & Technology Innovation Center, Northwest Electric Power Design Institute Co., LTD, of China Power Engineering Consulting Group—to Hubei SOLI New Material Technology co., Ltd (SOLIWOOL).The visit aimed to gain in-depth insight into SOLIWOOL’s cutting-edge advances in the solar-thermal field and to foster collaborative innovation and industrial synergy among Alliance members. Chairman & General Manager Liu Bin, Deputy General Manager Wang Jie, and Director of Strategic Sales Dong Enbo warmly welcomed the delegation.
The delegation first toured SOLIWOOL’s modern production workshops and corporate exhibition hall, where they observed the intelligent production lines of the company’s core products and its rigorous quality-control system. They examined the lean-manufacturing excellence behind the company’s high-performance tower-receiver insulation and protection materials, as well as flexible connectors for parabolic-trough receivers.
During the round-table session chaired by Researcher Lei Dongqiang of the Institute of Electrical Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chairman Liu Bin expressed Shuoli’s eagerness to deepen cooperation with CSTA enterprises and research institutes to jointly overcome key material-technology bottlenecks and support the high-quality development of China’s solar-thermal industry. To date, SOLIWOOL’s thermal-insulation and protection products have been successfully deployed in the 950 MW Dubai CSP project, the Sanxia-Hengji Nengmai Guazhou “dual-tower/single-turbine” CSP project, and the Tibet Zabuye Source-Grid-Load-Storage integrated project, among others.
Dr. Zhao Xiaohui and technical heads from multiple member units engaged in pragmatic and constructive discussions with Shuoli’s team on topics such as CSP cost optimization, expansion of application scenarios, and future trends for CSP in China.
In his concluding remarks, Dr. Zhao noted that the visit enabled industry representatives to fully recognize SOLIWOOL’s leading technology and innovative R&D capabilities in the specialized field of CSP materials. The CSTA will continue leveraging its platform role to integrate resources and accelerate the efficient transformation and application of innovative outcomes across the CSP value chain. The event not only deepened mutual understanding among member units but also opened broad avenues for future joint R&D, standardization efforts, and synergistic cooperation.
