The First Heliostat of the Tibet Kaikou Anduo 100MW Solar Thermal Project Successfully Installed

On June 16, the first heliostat of the Tibet Kaikou Anduo 100MW solar thermal + 800MW photovoltaic integrated project's CSP station was successfully manufactured and installed. This marks a key milestone in the project's progress and signifies a significant step forward for the world's highest-altitude tower CSP station project in Tibet.

As a key energy project in the Autonomous Region's "14th Five-Year Plan" and an important part of the region's 750MW solar thermal project, the project has a total investment of approximately 2.037 billion yuan. It employs advanced molten salt tower-type solar thermal technology, with about 16,000 pentagonal heliostats, each covering an area of 50.23 square meters. These heliostats reflect sunlight to the heat absorber tower, heating the molten salt to 560°C. The high-temperature molten salt then undergoes counter-current heat exchange to convert mechanical energy into electrical energy, providing a continuous and stable supply of clean energy.

Since the project's commencement, all participating units have worked collaboratively, actively addressing complex conditions, and strictly adhered to safety and quality standards to ensure the smooth progress of key project milestones and lay a solid foundation for the project's orderly commissioning.

According to previous reports, the project's groundbreaking ceremony was held on June 10. The project is invested in and constructed by Tibet Development Investment Group Co., Ltd., with the total contracting by Northwest Engineering Corporation Limited. It will utilize key equipment such as the solar energy collection and heat transfer system, steam generator, and turbine generator set, all independently developed by Dongfang Boiler CO., LTD. The power station is scheduled to be connected to the grid in October 2026.
