The Core Equipment Cluster Lifting of the SGS System for the 100,000 kW Solar Thermal Project in Bortala, Xinjiang, Was Successfully Completed

On May 28, the core equipment of the 100,000 kW thermal energy storage solar thermal project in Bortala by Xinhua Hydropower Company Limited, including the evaporator, steam drum, superheater, reheater, and preheater, was successfully lifted into place, marking the completion of the lifting of all large components of the SGS system.

Currently, the project has entered the peak construction phase. Units such as the air-cooled island, water treatment workshop, auxiliary machine cooling tower, and integrated pump house have been completed and are now in the defect elimination and commissioning stage. The main plant’s turbine and auxiliary machine equipment have been finished, with 95% of the pipeline installation completed; the lower steel frame of the receiver has been lifted into place, and the middle steel frame is being lifted while the upper steel frame is being assembled; the electric heat tracing of the receiver’s tube screen has been completed, and insulation work is underway; the molten salt piping inside the tower has begun to be installed. The project is simultaneously advancing construction and production preparation work.

The 100,000 kW thermal energy storage CSP station adopts a molten salt tower technology route, with a mirror field area of 530,000 square meters and a thermal energy storage duration of 8 hours. The project’s PC general contracting was awarded to Hengji Energy Pulse New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. and Gansu Installation and Construction Group Co., Ltd.
