Shanghai Electric and ACWA power signed EPC contract of Dubai 700MW CSP project

On Apr. 13 Beijing time, Shanghai Electric and ACWA Power signed the EPC contract for the 700MW solar thermal power project of Dubai in Shanghai. The project is the largest solar thermal power project in the world so far. Mr. Zhou Bo,the deputy mayor of Shanghai municipal government, Mr. HESaeed Mohammad Ahmad Al Tayer, general manager and CEO of Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA), Mr.Zheng Jianhua, president of the Shanghai Electric Group, ,and Mr. Mohammad A. Abunayyan,  Chairman of ACWA Power, and leaders from Silk Road Foundation and other stakeholders presented the signing ceremony.

It was told by the representative from Shanghai Electric thatthis 700MW CSP project is the phase four project of Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum solar parkdeveloped by DEWA, is the world's biggest solar-thermal power stations. The plant will use "solar tower + parabolic trough" CSP technologies,  concentrating solar-thermal power generation technology, including one 100MW  molten salt solar tower station and 3 parabolic trough stations with a capacity of 200MW each, with a 15hours of thermal storage system. 
The first phase of the project is expected to be completed by 2020.
