More than 50 delegates visited CAMDA’s 1MWt trough-type thermal power generation demonstration project and the evacuated tube production line
In the afternoon of February 25, CAMDA New Energy arranged the representatives to visit the 1MWt trough-type thermal power generation demonstration project located at CAMDA New Energy plant in Liaobu Town, Dongguan City, Guangdong Province following the “Seminar on generic technology of trough-type evacuated tube collectors and 2017 visits to NAFSTE members” which is sponsored by NAFSTE and jointly undertaken by CAMDA New Energy Equipment Co., Ltd. and Thermal Focus (Beijing) New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. 
It is reported that CAMDA’s 1MWt trough-type solar thermal power generation demonstration project is an international cooperation project themed on “Sino-Italian cooperative innovation platform and demonstration project for solar thermal power technology” which is applied by CAMDA New Energy to the Ministry of Science and Technology. It has secured support in the form of Guangdong Province Major Science and Technology Project in 2008 and special support of the Ministry of Science and Technology for international cooperation in 2010. According to the introduction, this trough-type demonstration system, covering an area of 15mu with a designed thermal power of 1MW, is an entire power station with a set of thermal collection system, heat storage system, heat transfer, steam generation, power generation and refrigeration systems. Its solar thermal collection fields consist of three 120m circuits which are used for industrial testing of high-temperature tube collectors and so on. It can also be cascaded into a 360-meter circuit for power generation or cooling. The platform’s trough reflector is composed of the self-produced 1.2m*1.09m lens. The system uses heat transfer oil as the heat transfer medium to produce superheated steam of 340℃ for power generation. It also produces saturated steam of 171℃ for cooling.

Subsequently, the delegates also visited the CAMDA’s production line of high-temperature evacuated tube collectors. High-temperature evacuated tube collector is the core part of trough-type solar thermal power generation technology. CAMDA New Energy has independently developed the coating technology and equipment, and made breakthrough in the core technology of high-temperature tube collector – high-performance selective absorbing coating, glass-metal sealing technology, glass tube penetration technology and vacuum pumping technology, and has mastered the advanced coating technology for the inner tube of high-temperature tube collector. It meets the working conditions of heat transfer oil (400°C) and molten salt (550°C); it is equipped with a thin film optical performance test equipment, high-temperature-resistant test equipment, heat loss test equipment of tube collector, and life cycle test device, etc. The company has established a magnetron sputtering coating research laboratory and related performance testing methods. The company established a production line for high-temperature tube collector in 2012, with a designed annual capacity to meet the needs of 50MW trough-type power plant.

According to the introduction, CAMDA New Energy has mastered the core technology for trough-type solar thermal power generation system through the R&D and construction of the demonstration project, and has the production capacity for such key parts as trough-type high-temperature collector, tracking and control systems, as well as the design and general contracting capacity for trough-type solar thermal collection field.
