China’s Politburo Member and Secretary of Tianjin Municipal Committee Sun Chunlan visited SunCan Co., Ltd. on June, 15 2014, accompanied by more than 100 people, including Huang Xingguo, deputy secretary of Tianjin Municipal Committee and mayor of Tianjin City, Xiao Huaiyuan, director of Tianjin Municipal People’s Congress, and Wang Dongfeng, deputy secretary of Tianjin Municipal Committee. Sun Chunlan and her entourage visited SunCan’s 1MWt trough solar thermal power demonstration project and tower, trough core equipment production line. She asked about the solar thermal power key technologies mastered by the company, and listened to the detailed reports made by SunCan’s president Huang Wenjia, and General manager Yao Zhihao.
SunCan is Aisa’s only company that masters key technologies of trough and tower plant. Until now it has finished the construction of solar island, participated in the development and investment of several solar thermal projects, and mastered the EPC capability, including large solar thermal plant design, procurement, construction, commissioning and operation. During the visiting, Sun Chunlan mentioned solar thermal power is a thriving industry, and showed her intention to support the development of SunCan and the whole solar thermal industry.
Earlier this month, National Energy Administration entrusted Electric Power Planning & Engineering Institute, China Renewable Energy Engineering Institute and National Solar Thermal Energy Alliance to start research on solar thermal power chain. After years of nurturing, China’s solar thermal power industry has been at the critical point of outbreak.
