IEA SolarPACES 2013 conference closed successfully

IEA SolarPACES 2013 conference closed successfully in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States on Sep. 20 local time. Dr. Ranga Pitchumani, chairman of SolarPACES 2013 and also head of D0E SunShot program, addressed at the closing ceremony. Dr. Ranga Pitchumani extended special thanks to 700 participants from 36 countries, and announced that SolarPACES 2014 conference would be held in Beijing, China.

 

Dr. Wang Zhifeng, chairman of SolarPACES 2014, was invited to make closing remarks. Dr. Wang introduced the state of the art of CSP technology development in China, and also the host venue of SolarPACES 2014 and its surrounding environment. When the words "Welcome to Beijing" in sixteen languages appeared on the screen, the audience burst into thunderous applause.

 SolarPACES conference, initiated in 1980, is the foremost symposium for the who's who in concentrating solar power and chemical energy systems, offering a forum for research, industry, politics and financing stakeholders within the framework of a scientific conference program with leading world experts.

 

CSP technology in China has achieved rapid development in recent years. So far, China has become the fourth country with MW level CSP technology, following USA, Germany, and Spain. Besides, the amount of China’s SCI papers on CSP has ranked second in the world. SolarPACES 2014 to be held in China is great news for Chinese who have dedicated themselves to CSP industry, and this will help them know the research status and development trend of international CSP technology,   promote international cooperation and communication in this field, and accelerate the commercialization of CSP technology in China.
