The 7th Sanya International CSP Forum was held successfully in Sanya, Hainan province from Aug. 12 to Aug. 14, which was organized by Chinese Renewable Energy Society, Chinese Society of Engineering Thermophysics and Department of High and New Technology Development and Industrialization, Ministry of Science and Technology, hosted by Institute of Electrical Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences and National Solar Thermal Energy Alliance, and co-hosted by SolarPACES, Hainan Renewable Energy Association, SunCan Co., Ltd and Himin Solar Co., Ltd.
More than 270 representatives from both at home and abroad attended the forum. The participants’ background covers a wide range, from governmental officers, researchers in universities and institutes, company representatives to investors and so on.
Fifty-six persons made presentations in these 3 days. The presented topics cover CSP equipment technology, CSP system technology, CSP system integration technology, CSP economy and policy. In this year’s forum, three sessions are specially organized: Seminar on CSP projects of funded by National High-tech R&D Program(863 Program, 2011-2015), Seminar on projects funded by National Nature Science Foundation of China and Seminar on projects funded by National Basic Research Program(973 program), and these seminars are open to all participants.
On the morning of August 12, Dr. Wang Zhifeng, Chairman of National Solar Thermal Energy Alliance, presided the opening ceremony. Those presented in the opening ceremony include: Mr. Shi Dinghuan, president of Chinese Renewable Energy Society; Mr. Xu Jianzhong, chairman of the forum, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, president of Chinese Society of Engineering Thermophysics; Mr. Zheng Fangneng, director of Energy and Transportation Division of High and New Technology Development and Industrialization Department, MOST; Mr. Chen Shuoyi, director of energy department of high-tech center, MOST; Dr. Christoph Richter, secretary-general of IEA-SolarPACES; Dr. Luis Crespo, president of ESTELA; Dr. Heackyong Kang, executive committee member of IEA-SolarPACES; Mr. T.B Seo, president of KSES; and also leaders from National Solar Thermal Energy Alliance.
Those presented in the closing ceremony include: Mr. Zhu Junsheng, head of Standard Committee of National Solar Thermal Energy Alliance; Prof. Ma Chongfang from Beijing University of Technology; Dr. Wang Zhifeng, Chairman of National Solar Thermal Energy Alliance; Mr. Liu Xiaobing, Secretary-general of National Solar Thermal Energy Alliance.
The Sanya CSP forum was held once a year and firstly opened in 2007, which intends to provide a platform for communication, exchange and cooperation related with solar thermal technology. We believe the commercialization of CSP technology will speed up through our effort.
