Recently, Northwest Electric Power Design Institute Co., LTD, of China Power Engineering Consulting Group(CPECC Northwest) has successively won the EPC Turnkey contract for the 100MW CSP project of Huadian Tianshan North Base’s 6.1GW new energy project, and the survey and design of the 100-MW CSP project at Zhongneng Tianshan North New Energy Base.

Huadian Tianshan North Base’s 100-MW CSP project is located in Tianshan North Base in Hami’s Baliqin County, San Tanghu Town. The Zhongneng Tianshan North New Energy Base’s 100-MW CSP project is located in Hami’s Yiwu County, Naomaohu Town. Both are part of the Hami North-Chongqing ±800 kV UHVDC transmission project (“Power Transmission from Xinjiang” route III). Each will install a 100-MW tower CSP unit. Once operational, each project is expected to generate over 240 GWh/year, saving 72,000 tonnes of standard coal and reducing CO₂ emissions by 180,000 tonnes annually.

This success in both survey and design, and EPC Turnkey, shows CPECC Northwest’s strong competencies across the entire CSP industry chain, from design, procurement, and construction. It marks the company’s all-round participation in Hami’s CSP projects and the “Power Transmission from Xinjiang” projects, further consolidating its leading position in Xinjiang’s CSP market.
