On March 16, Energy China successfully topped out the absorber tower of the 150MW CSP plant, part of the 1500MW "Solar (Thermal) Storage" base project in Hami. This marks the transition of the power generation system and individual structures into the equipment installation phase, creating favorable conditions for achieving the construction completion target within the year.
The project is located in the Santanghu Wind Zone of Barkol Kazakh Autonomous County, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, with a total installed capacity of 1500MW, including 1350MW of photovoltaic and 150MW of thermal storage solar thermal (with a storage duration of 8 hours). The project is being developed and constructed under an integrated "solar thermal + photovoltaic" model.
The general contractor of the project introduced that the solar thermal power plant's heliostat field is entirely equipped with domestically produced equipment, and the supporting pile drivers also feature an integrated design, allowing for one-time completion of civil engineering and installation, thereby improving construction progress.
It is reported that according to the plan, the commissioning of all 20,516 heliostats in the field will be completed by November this year.
