According to a report from the Turpan Media Fusion Center: In early February, despite the lingering chill of spring, the construction site is bustling with activity. On February 21, at the construction site of the Haitai Solar 1000000 kW “Solar Thermal + Photovoltaic” integrated project located in the Qiquanhu Photovoltaic Industrial Park in Gaochang District, over 500 workers were busy installing equipment and carrying out foundation work to meet the schedule. The site was filled with the noise of transport vehicles and machinery, as everyone worked towards the goal of full-capacity grid connection by the end of May this year.
As a key new energy project in Xinjiang, the project has a total investment of 5.5 billion yuan and covers an area of 27.34 square kilometers. It is planned to include a 900,000kW photovoltaic power station and a 100,000kW molten salt thermal energy storage power generation system, along with the construction of a 220 kV step-up substation. According to Hu Shangjian, the Chief Engineer of Turpan Hengsheng Electric Power Development Co., Ltd., the photovoltaic area has been fully constructed, with 300,000 kW already connected to the grid. The 100,000kW molten salt thermal energy storage power generation project is currently under accelerated construction, with the overall progress exceeding 80%.
