In his speech, Wang Liqi, Secretary of the Jiuquan Municipal Party Committee, comprehensively elaborated on the advantages of Jiuquan as a national new energy highland. He mentioned that Jiuquan, with its abundant wind and solar energy resources, has become an important new energy and equipment manufacturing base in the country under the guidance of the dual carbon strategy. The significant increase in cumulative installed capacity of new energy has led to the completion of 5 solar thermal demonstration projects and the construction of 4 solar thermal+demonstration projects, making it the largest and most comprehensive solar thermal base in the country. Looking ahead to the future, Jiuquan will seize the opportunity of national energy policy adjustments, especially relying on the construction of large-scale wind and photovoltaic bases in desert, Gobi, and desert areas, fully promoting the scale and low-cost development of solar thermal power generation technology, exploring multi energy complementary energy development models, and building Jiuquan into a new benchmark for solar thermal power generation and equipment manufacturing in the country and even globally.
