On October 20, the first set of heliostats for ENERGY CHINA Xinjiang Turpan CSP + PV Integration Project 100MW CT CSP Project (the “Project”), being constructed by Cosin Solar as a member of the EPC consortium, was successfully assembled and rolled off the assembly line, marking commencement of construction of the heliostat field.
The Project uses 21,865 sets of 30-square-meter high-precision intelligent heliostat independently developed by Cosin Solar. As the first CSP project Cosin Solar constructed in Xinjiang region, a lot of efforts and resources have been given to ensure its success. Now all the construction work are undergoing in an orderly manner despite all the challenges we encountered such as high temperature and heavy wind and sand. It lays a solid foundation for our next stage construction and sets a good role model for other CSP projects under construction in Xinjiang region by Cosin Solar.
Heliostat Assembly Facility
Currently Cosin Solar has several CSP projects that are moving forward steadily, widely distributed in Qinghai, Gansu, Xinjiang and Jilin. Each project has made its respective milestone progresses. In the next step, Cosin Solar will continue to tap into the supply chain and engineering management advantages, by adhering to the highest standards and the best quality, to create high-quality "CSP energy storage +" integration projects for various regions.
The ENERGY CHINA Xinjiang Turpan CSP + PV Integration Project is one of the second batch of market-oriented grid-connected new energy park projects in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in 2022. The project, located in Qiketai Town, Shanshan County, Turpan City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, has a total installed capacity of 1GW, including 900MW PV (AC side) and 100MW CT CSP, with a 12-hour molten salt storage system and a 655,95㎡ heliostat field.
Cosin Solar, China Energy Engineering Group Zhejiang Electric Power Design Institute Co., Ltd. and Zhejiang Huaye Power Engineering Co., Ltd. as a consortium won the bid for the EPC contract of the Project. According to the consortium's DOR, Cosin Solar will mainly be responsible for the engineering, equipment integration and supply, related commissioning and operation advisory services for the Solar field and the MSR system, together with some necessary technical support for other systems as required by the owner.
