The Hami CSP project of China National Electric Engineering Co., Ltd. (abbr. CNEEC) is one of the first demonstration projects of solar thermal power generation in China, with a capacity of 50MW. It uses solar tower technology, with a total of 14000 heliostats and one 180m high solar tower. The thermal storage is 13h.
Recently, as the solar thermal collection system contractor, Dongfang Boiler Group Co., Ltd. (DBC), a principal subsidiary of Dongfang Electric Corporation (DEC) issued a bidding announcement for the cloud forecasting system for Hami solar tower project. The announcement requires the bidder to be a qualified supplier of Dongguo. The deadline for submission of bids is 09:00 on July 25, 2019.
It’s known that, when the solar tower plant working, the heliostats reflect the sun's rays onto the receiver and heats the molten salt inside. When the internal temperature of the receiver changes too fast, a large thermal stress is generated. For the mirror field, the cloud is the decisive factor that causes the change of the radiation input. When the cloud suddenly comes to or leaves the solar field, the amount of radiation received by the mirror field will be abruptly changed, and the temperature inside the receiver will suddenly change, which will cause the damage on receiver by thermal stress. Therefore, it is necessary to estimate the cloud motion ontop of the mirror field and adjust the attitude of the heliostats accordingly, which is of great significance for the safety and conversion efficiency of the heat transfer of the whole system.
