In order to promote the technological exchange and cooperation on concentrated solar power (CSP), China National Solar Thermal Energy Alliance, Chinese Society of Engineering Thermophysics, Chinese Renewable Energy Society and Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering will organize the 4th China Solar Thermal Electricity Conference in Changzhou city, Jiangsu Province on Sep. 12-14, 2018. It is the most authoritative and influential annual conference of solar thermal power generation technology in China, with the theme as promoting the industrial development of solar thermal electricity by scientific and technological innovation.
Recently, Mr. Mark Mehos from NREL has confirmed that he would physically attend this conference and  make a keynote speech on the NREL’s grid integration analysis efforts and how that might be extended to China, as well as the Gen3 Program in the U.S.

Mark Mehos

Mark joined NREL in 1986 and manages the Thermal Sciences group at NREL. The Thermal Sciences Group focuses primarily on R&D and analysis in support of DOE’s Concentrating Solar Power (CSP) and Geothermal Programs. He has served as the CSP program manager at NREL since 2001.
In addition to his work at NREL, Mark is currently the leader for the International Energy Agency’s SolarPACES “Solar Thermal Electric Power Systems” task. This IEA task supports international collaboration on the development of best practices for modeling, acceptance testing, and grid-integration of CSP systems. He is active in the development of several new grid-integration studies investigating the interaction of CSP systems with thermal energy storage within the western U.S. interconnect and has supported the development of similar studies for international markets for CSP.
